About The Qualification

This qualification may be used as a pathway for workforce entry into indigenous environmental health work. At this level, work takes place under direct and regular supervision within clearly defined guidelines.

Units of Competency

The units listed below are an example of what we may run, each course has the units selected specifically for the location requirements and therefore may vary.

Core Units
HLTPOP029 Work in a population health context,
HLTPOP030 Determine and implement disease prevention and control measures,
HLTWHS001 Participate in workplace health and safety.

Elective Units
HLTPOP025 Provide basic repairs and maintenance to health hardware and fixtures,
HLTPOP026 Monitor and maintain sewage or effluent systems,
HLTPOP027 Monitor and maintain water supply,
HLTPOP031 Provide information and support on environmental health issues,
HLTPOP033 Identify pest control strategies,
HLTAID011 Provide first aid.

Must hold a valid USI (Unique Student Identifier) or be able to get one.

Students must complete an LLN quiz.

Students under the age of 18 years who are still of mandatory high school age will require an approved NOA or Department of Education Exemption form to be eligible to attend this course.
